3. Millepora braziliensis
Colonies of Millepora braziliensis are massive with thick, flattened and usually coalescent lateral branches. They forms roughly continuous plates. In the area of Abrolhos, the colonies of this species form compact masses with around 2 to 3 m of diameter. The colonies are usually located below the Millepora alcicornis zone. In other areas the colonies are smaller and more dispersed.
Millepora braziliensis is endemic to Brazil. It is registered from the coast of Rio Grande do Norte state to the coast of Espiríto Santo state.
